Cornerstone University: What we are facing

by Matt | April 23rd, 2007 |

Sunday night/early Monday morning the Riders stood on the side of the road, at the edge of the Cornerstone University campus. Cornerstone is holding a 12 hour, all night worship and prayer service, 9pm Sunday to 9am Monday, because of our visit to the campus.

Many students came out and we had some wonderful conversation, but oh how nice it would have been to be a part of the worship service. Before heading to Cornerstone, we had the wonderful opportunity to attend a chapel service with students at nearby Calvin College, the school we’ll be visiting and welcomed on campus, on Tuesday.

Monday morning we head back to Cornerstone. Lots of news to share tomorrow evening, especially from me. If there is a civil disobedience and if the school chooses to arrest us, I have volunteered to be one of those arrested. I am praying this doesn’t occur. Conversation and dialogue is so much better than that.

For a taste of what we are facing, check out the video from one of Cornerstone’s chapel services.

  4. I grew up in Grand Rapids and even watching that video just a little bit made me angrier than I can say. You are all so very, very brave.
