UPDATED, May 15, 2007: I’m sure many of you have noticed many, many changes in my site and, sometimes, the site didn’t even pop up at all (for very short time periods, however).
I was wanting to change my site design and thought I wanted something a lot simpler than the old one. Well… I did want something more simpler but I went WAY too simple. Then, I couldn’t find a design I liked at all.
So… I attempted making my own WordPress site theme from a regular old CSS/HTML website template. The first try didn’t work out at all, BUT I learned a whole heck of a lot in the process.
Here now, you see my current, successful site design. It was originally a basic CSS/HTML design and I have custom ported it into a WordPress site theme. I hope everything works as it should. If it doesn’t leave a comment or hit me up: matt ‘at’ interstateq ‘dot’ com.
A WORD ON BROWSERS: I have tested this theme in Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera. Here is the run-down on problems I have encountered:
- Firefox & Opera: Right-aligned images do not allow text/word wrap around to the left, so breaks in paragraphs might be seen.
- Internet Explorer 7: The page does not center and floats to the left. Not a big problem but a difference from Firefox & Opera and what the site is supposed to really look like.
I have not tested this design in Safari or Internet Explorer 6. I do not have these browsers on my computer. If you have one of these, let me know and we can work on seeing if there are any problems. Note to Internet Explorer 6 users: Please upgrade from IE6, which is extremely outdated! Please download the new Internet Explorer 7 or get Firefox, please.
