Let’s make one thing clear…

“The Freedom of Speech & the citizens’ ability to hold their elected officials accountable are among the greatest gifts of our Republic. We must firmly grasp these cherished rights lest they be stripped from us leaving us voiceless, powerless & unable to incite new & progressive change for ourselves & future generations.”
Yes… this something I said. Sounds good, doesn’t it? I didn’t “borrow” it from anyone… It came directly from my head, through my fingers and right to the keyboard.
Darn, I’m good.

“Lest” and “nay” are two of my favorite words!

I think Matt used “lest” in that piece as naturally as Ben Franklin would. (”Thus” is another word I’d like to see brought back to common usage).

I use “thus” a lot, as well.
“Nay”… like I’m going to vote “nay” on every piece of anti-gay legislation if I ever get elected to office, lol.
