So first day of our quick training before hitting the backroads of New York is going well.

We split up into our four different van groups this morning and plotted our schedule.

Wednesday, 7/18 – Saratoga County Fair during the day, Community Forum & Movie Screening in the evening

Thursday, 7/19 – Meetings with Senator Hugh Farley (Amsterdam), Assemblyman Roy McDonald (Fort Edwards) and Assemblywoman Teresa Sayward (Glens Falls)

Friday, 7/20 – Meeting with Assemblywoman Janet Dupree (Plattsburg), evening Forum at SUNY Plattsburg

Monday, 7/23 – Meetings with Assemblywoman Scozzafava (Gouveneur) & Assemblyman Daryl Aubertine (Canton, afternoon at a county fair, & PM event at St. Lawrence University

  • Bruno and/or staff? My money’s on “or staff.” =/

Fun fact: NY’s is one of only four state capitol buildings not to have a dome.

How come none of your groups is hitting Ithaca? That’s the nexus of all upstate NY radical liberalism. ;-)

  • Yeah… I’m pretty sure it’ll be staff.

As for Ithaca… I think our point is to go to those elected officials most other groups have given up on. Soulforce is big on education and reaching to to folks who most folks wouldn’t reach out to (think: Equality Ride).
