King David was an enraged bigot?

by Matt | November 21st, 2007 |

Famed Warrior. Promiscuous. Called by God. Adulterer. Shepherd Boy. Greedy. Righteous Ruler. Lustful. Gay Lover of Prince Jonathan.

Add “raging bigot” to the list of characteristics enshrined in the personality of the Hebrew scripture’s King David.

Quoting the Rev. Ken Hutcherson, former Dallas Cowboys linebacker and pastor of Antioch Bible Church in Redmond, Washington, home of Microsoft (Daily Telegraph U.K.):

“I don’t care how big Microsoft is,” he said. “They are nothing but a feather in the wind of God. America basically got started with a tea party and Goliath, if I’m not mistaken, got taken down by David, who believed in the same cause I believe in.

“I’m going to go after the new Goliath with one little rock called a share and I’m going to make them tremble before we get through.”

  2. Matt, the only thing that Ken’s latest crusade will do is raise microsoft stock prices which are now at $34.31 if all of a sudden christians start buying up stocks it will send the stock price skyrocketing to unaffordable rates and make investors and the company a lot of money is that what Ken is trying to accomplish. It would make as much sense for the AFA to ask christians to start buying Ford stock to force the company to return to “traditional values” which would in effect make Ford a lot of money and increase stock prices. I hope you get the point.

  3. I’m with Adam. The only way their scheme would work is if they managed to gain a controlling percentage of shares and I don’t find that bloody likely. But they’re more than welcome to hike up Microsoft’s stock price in the attempt.

Of course, considering some of the other recent stories I’ve seen about him on the blogosphere, I find myself wondering if Hutcherson might be more interested in his fifteen minutes of fame than in some of the crazy things he claims to be working towards.

  5. Oh guys I just checked at this website,
    http://moneycentral.msn.com/ownership?Symbol=msft

And according to them there are 9.36 billion shares, good luck trying to get a 50+% of that and getting hard working christians to part with their money.
