A sign of how they’ll govern?
There is a group of radically conservative, religious right fundamentalists who are encouraging Christians to move to South Carolina and create their own “Christian Paleo-Conservative” government. They want to “protect marriage,” “protect life” and adopt their own gold-based currency.

All their talk about self-determination and they don’t allow the freedom of dialogue… even on a YouTube video?
If this is a sign of how they’ll govern, I — for one — whole-heartedly support the use of federal power to stop secession.

And, in a related note concerning Christian Exodus, the Anderson, S.C., Independent Mail reported Jan. 4 that rumors the group would be leaving the state are untrue:
Christian Exodus leader Cory Burnell says his group’s expansion to Idaho does not mean it is leaving Anderson.
The organization’s new development in Gem County, Idaho, is a branch of a continually growing group of conservative Christians who want to return to a limited form of government, Mr. Burnell said.
“The Idaho contingent is an expansion, not a redirection, of our project. We had several committed CE members approach us about the good things happening in their Idaho communities and the number of Westerners they’re running into who’ll not ever move to S.C., but who agree with our strategy of focusing on county and state reform as a means of achieving federal reform,” he wrote in an e-mail. “So several of our officers and the Idaho members discussed this concept over the past six months, and we finally came to an agreement this fall.”
The group’s action plan states, “ChristianExodus.org will continue this process until we’ve made enough of an impact statewide to put the General Assembly of the State in the hands of Christians who obey the federal and state constitutions regardless of court orders to the contrary.”
The Independent Mail notes, “If the organization could not persuade the federal government to return to the constitution, they would secede South Carolina from the union.” So far, only 15 families have moved into the Anderson, S.C. area.
And, going further, if there is any doubt how LGBT people would be treated in this group’s new government in South Carolina (and the nation, if they are successful) the group’s website, ChristianExodus.org, includes a position statement on numerous issues, including homosexuality:
ChristianExodus.org recognizes that homosexuality is an unhealthy, unsafe, detrimental behavior that affects all citizens in a community, not just the participants. Additionally, sexual conduct outside the bonds of marriage is not a God-given right. Therefore, homosexual activity is a behavior that a state may regulate and legislate against.
On other issues, Christian Exodus is just as radical, including their positions that the 14th, 16th and 17th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution should be repealed and/or nullified by the states.
The group claims they do not wish to establish a theocracy and favor religious freedom.

If they go throug with this they will be commiting treason against the united states. If they truly don’t like how our government is run they are free to go to Saudi Arabia or Iran where their kind of beliefs are practiced.

Many of the students I work with regularly are from Anderson, SC and from what they have told me these nut balls are the laughing stock of town.
