  2. putting it that way also means that 70% said NO to Edwards and 64% said NO to Obama.

statistics always have an average ± 5% margin of error. so, if you’re using statistics, it’s actually a deadheat between the three of them.

i think the bigger story is what John Dean said - this means that more people are turning to the Democrats and leaving the Republicans behind. this is the exciting turn of events. i’m more interested in seeing the numbers of people who showed up at the Dem caucus’ vs. the number that showed up for the Rep’s. that will be the real telling story…

  3. Mike… Hillary, with 93% of precincts reporting came in third. She was supposed to be the “presumed incumbent.” I guess not so many Dems were to hot for Hill. Yay. Good for America.

  4. What this really tells us is that yes, Clinton is not as viable as she thought she was, however, considering the basic ‘tie’ between Edwards and Clinton (even if Edwards is slightly ahead), it tells us its a close race, and we have much further to go.

As for Obama, its not shocking that he did as well as he did. But it will be testing to see how he will do in NH and in SC and all the way throughout Super Tuesday.

We have a very tight race, with slight leads and margins, which, well Iowa is important, it doesn’t tell us everything.

Well, except Chris Dodd is out of the race! lol!

Exciting election season this has been so far.

  5. Hey Samantha! Long time no see!

Yes, Edwards and Clinton were indeed very close. I’m not too happy with Obama’s win.
