‘Water-soluble’ fundraiser

The 30-year-old owner of Boy Butter Lubricants (haha) swam a solo marathon across the St. Lawrence River at Cape Vincent, NY to Wolf Island in Canada and back, a round-trip distance of almost 6 miles, in order to raise money for SAGE, or Seniors Active in a Gay Environment. SAGE is an LGBT organization devoted to serving the needs of LGBT senior citizens.

“I have been volunteering for the elderly for a couple of years now, it is incredibly important socially and personally rewarding as well,” Eyal Feldman said in a press release. “It is amazing to help others in such a direct and intimate way, such social contacts and services are simply vital for the elderly. By combining my two loves, swimming and volunteer work I am able to create an exciting worthwhile adventure.”

The Swim took place at Lazy Acres in Cape Vincent NY on Sunday September 9th 2008 at 9:15 am and was completed at 12:45 pm. For video of the swim please visit: http://boybutter.blogspot.com/
