Freaks…

Around lunchtime on Friday, an associate at the office walked in from her lunch break and was completely freaked over the jumping prices of gas. She said there were lines at some stations and others had been closed. The price had soared to over $4.00, she said. Most worrisome was the fact that almost every gas station on Charlotte’s Independence Blvd/Expressway was closed.
When I left work at 6:30 this evening, the story was the same. Every gas station I passed on the way home was either closed or had a line wrapping around it, folks waiting to fill up with $4.29 gas.
I guess Ike’s made all the shit hit the fan. I called Senator Richard Burr’s office to lament over the skyrocketing cost. My uncle did the same. We were both directed to the North Carolina Attorney General’s office. Damn.
Calling Burr didn’t do any good, I know. But, it did make me feel better for at least a minute or two.
