OUT in Charlotte
No… seriously. Don’t jump to conclusions. I’m not starting a new project.
OUT magazine is on its way to the Queen City! That’s right. This Friday in Charlotte, join the boys (and gals) of Takeover Friday for their anniversary party at Tutto Mondo and Pewter Rose. You never know; you might get your chance to grace the pages of the gay community’s premier queer entertainment rag!
From organizer Dan…
The party is for you! You have made Takeover Friday what is today…And as it appears, others are taking notice. OUT magazine is writing an article about the success of our social group and we are not taking this lying down (no pun intended).
If you go back and read the previous emails, we have been hinting about our special guest…
So what does OUT want from you? Well first, they want to meet you by showing up at Tutto Mondo on Friday night at 7pm. DJ Levi Brown will be spinning the night. Tutto is not your thing? Volatile Baby is playing at Pewter Rose! We have both ends of the spectrum covered…
We are pulling out all the stops to make this one of our largest parties…AND Tutto Mondo has outdone themselves…Spencer is over at Tutto painting now as I am typing this email…
So what else?
BRING your camera and take pictures…LOTS of them! This could be your chance to be in a national magazine! Take pictures of you and your friends at the party…either side…male or female…they want to see it all…
Absolute Vodka, Anheiser Busch, Red Bull and American Honey are joining the list of hosts…
Trust us…you will not want to miss out on this spotlight on our city, CHARLOTTE, NC… and it’s because of you!
See you there!

Oh, I don’t need to be in OUT. Maybe one day I’ll work there, hehe.

Meh…Charlotte. It’s a gay standalone city in the state of NC. Kinda like Atlanta is standalone in GA. They should spend some time reaching out to other parts of the state and quit being self-centered.

Charlotte’s really not all that different from Raleigh or Greensboro. In fact, I think Raleigh has a better, more unified LGBT community than Charlotte does. We’ve all got our own pros & cons.
(P.S. - OUT did a great story on Winston-Salem’s queer youth prom just a couple years ago.)
