In fact, I think Raleigh has a better, more unified LGBT community than Charlotte does. We've all got our own pros & cons. (P.S. - OUT did a great story on Winston-Salem's queer youth prom just a couple years ago.) Charlotte’s really not all that different from Raleigh or Greensboro. It's a gay standalone city in the state of NC. Kinda like Atlanta is standalone in GA. They should spend some time reaching out to other parts of the state and quit being self-centered.
