California bans gay bashing in political campaigns
by Matt | August 22nd, 2005 |According to an article on 365gay.com, the California Senate passed legislation banning gay bashing in political campaigns on Monday, August 22, 2005.
The ban, however, is included in the voluntary “Code of Fair Campaign Practices” pledge.
The ban on campaign gay bashing is the first of its kind in the nation. The legislation had already been approved by the Assembly and now awaits approval from the Governor of California. Gov. Schwarzenegger has twelve days in order to decide to sign the legislation.
