Anti-Gay Politicians Watch 16: Illegal Robinson $$$
by Matt | May 26th, 2006 |Vernon Robinson, the infamously anti-LGBT candidate running for the 13th Congressional District, might just have a lot more than anti-gay rhetoric and bigotry on his hands here soon. He might just be needing a lawyer… and some better knowledge of Federal Election Commission (FEC) guidelines, too.
Jay Ovittore, a blogger and Greensboro citizen who has been on Robinson’s back almost as much as I have, recently submitted a letter of complaint to the FEC in regard to possible illegal cash contributions to the Robinson for Congress Campaign. He even got a response back from the FEC, although it is unclear as to what they might do about it.
At the end of his post on the possible FEC violations by Robinson, Jay says:
My whole point of this and my other attacks on Robinson for Congress is, why would you vote for someone who wants to go to Washington and make laws, yet in the campaign stage can not follow the existing laws themselves? I guess you would vote for him if you wanted more Tom Delay and all the other corruption and scandal in DC.
You can see Jay Ovittore’s post for yourself, along with pictures of his complaint and the response from the FEC.
