Random, non-gay, Sunday post b/c I’m bored

by Matt | May 28th, 2006 |

When I started blogging I swore up and down that I would only post on serious issues and speak out on important topics. I told myself that I would never let my blog be like one of those stupid and lame MySpace or LiveJournal blogs where people ramble on and on about when they got out of bed, how they got ready for the day, what they ate or who they hung out with.

Like, who really wants to hear about your day and blah, blah, blah. Unless I’m good friends with a person and they are telling an interesting story or something, I can’t stand to read those lame blogs. They just seem like a waste of time to me.

But, I’m bored and I can’t seem to find much on which to spout off my thoughts and opinions today.

So here is your random, lame, non-gay, Sunday post inspired by a mix of boredom, nicotene and too much coffee.

I’m sitting here listening to my music on the laptop…

Here’s my fav’s (at least my fav’s for right now, as listed in my playlist, lol):

  • “Miss New Booty” Bubba Sparxxx
  • “Everytime we touch” Cascada
  • “SOS” Rihanna
  • “Bad Boy” Cascada
  • “Promiscuous Girl” Nelly Furtado
  • “Cliche” (remix) Simone Denny (theme song on Capital Pride 2006 website)

Anybody have any current fav’s… I know my good friend, colleague and blog reader Samantha is totally in love with the Dixie Chicks right now, lol (Samantha’s 100th post was actually on this subject, too) :)

Oh… and while I’m here, let me add: I absolutely hate weekends. Besides the fact that my site hits go from an average of 300-400 in a business week down to like 100-150 (if not less), weekends are boring unless you’ve got something great to do (wish requires cash). Here lately, I just haven’t been able to find anything cool to do (made worse by the fact that my good high school, Winston-Salem buddies are either in Boone, Charleston or elsewhere for that matter).

  2. Ya know Matt, we all have those “lame” days. I am glad to see you are human like me. (sometimes I wonder because you are so active)

Love your Blog, especially today. (grin)

  3. aww, thanks Matt! I like the random posts on here (as well the regular posts you have as well!) Yes, I am in love with the Dixie Chicks, have been since I turned 12, but a lot more right now because of their new album and the new found respect I have for them.

  4. Onanite - I have plenty of “lame” days, trust me, lol. I’m usually good at finding something to fill them in with though, lol.

Samantha - The Dixie Chicks are awesome. I agree. I don’t think it is going to be easy for them to get back into the country limelight, though. If their new music is great, however, I’m sure they’ll be plenty of country-lovin’ girls who will be willing to forget the Chicks’ political views in exchange for some great music to dance or sing to.

    Thanks for the props, ya’ll.

  5. yes, the new album is fabulous, and yes it deserves the word fabulous, lol. I admit it, it won’t be easy, but I think they will be able to be successful regardless :) Yeah, and this country lovin’ girl is buying tickets to their concert in Greensboro (October 22nd) in the next 2 weeks. So I will be able to dance and sing to them in person :)

  6. The album is fabulous! Hooray for freedom of speech-even if you have to get it across in a song! or two! And if there are people who do not want to listen to them just because they had an opinion, that is their loss. The same people who are bashing them have probably said worse things about Bush anyway. At least they are getting the recognition they deserve. Some country stations may not be playing their music, but Vh1 is playing their video, so rock on Dixie Chicks!

  7. Ahh, I see where you got my name from Natasha, so nevermind on the question I sent you on facebook. Good to know you support them and their music. :)
