UPDATE, 4:40pm, 5/22/2007: During Committee Reports after the House adjourned on May 22, 2007, House Speaker Joe Hackney referred the anti-LGBT marriage amendment to the Judiciary I Committee. Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at 12:30pm the North Carolina House of Representatives Rules Committee will hold a hearing on the anti-LGBT marriage amendment.
The hearing was prompted by NC Republicans threat to recall the bill to the House floor.
