Re: Freedom of Speech is dead

Matt posted about a concerning incident at the University of Florida involving an egregious suppression of free speech.  As if that were not bad enough, another violation of the Constitution is pushing forward.  The Associated Press reports that President Bush is championing another “anti-terrorism” initiative:
Under the new law — the Protect America Act — the [...]

Looking for a few good leaders

Mike Metzger writes a great article about the need for “contrarian leaders” in churches these days; prophets you might call them.  The Point tipped me off to the article which briefly highlights my own alma mater and our esteemed president: USC and Steven B. Sample.  I never took Sample’s leadership course but I heard only [...]

In the blogs: Gays and God

Alan Chamber’s blog from today discussing his time on the Mike and Juliet Show caught my eye this morning. I knew the show was coming up thanks to friend, advocate, and ex-gay survivor Peterson Tuscano who also appeared on the show. I was able to track down a video of the show thanks [...]

Re: NY marriage: One step forward

Matt shared recently that the NY state comptroller decided to being recognizing out-of-state marriages regardless of gender.  Lambda Legal reports that a NY trial judge agrees that the state’s decision follows state law.  The suit was originally brought by an anti-gay group.
The march towards equality continues on…
