***Vernon Robinson, former Winston-Salem City Councilmember (lost bid for re-election November 2005), former Republican candidate (2004 election year) for the Fifth Congressional District and former Republican candidate (2006 election year) for the 13th Congressional District organized a counter protest to Matt Hill Comer’s Triad Scouting For All Protest of the Discriminatory Membership Policies of the Boy Scouts of America. While at the Protest event, Matt asked the two City of Winston-Salem Police Officers overseeing the events if he could meet the organizer of the counter-protest, shake his hand and acknowledge that both parties would hold peaceful demonstrations. The officers returned to Matt after speaking to the opposing side; Matt had been denied his request to meet the opposing side.
